2009 Colwyn Bay Prom Day
The 2009 Bay of Colwyn Promenade Day took place on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May and with a low tide at 2pm the beach was available all day for activities.
This was the first time the beach had been available all day in 5 years and to celebrate, a team of artists created a 20 metre sand drawing.
This was a first for the event, which tries to provide free entertainment for the public year after year.
Other attractions the crowd enjoyed this year included:
- Helicopter Pleasure Rides
- Giant Funfair
- The Food Standards Agency Pantomime
- HM Revenue & Customs Interactive Display
- Giant Inflatable’s
- Live Music
- Market Traders
Prom Day annually attracts over 60,000 people to the area and although the majority are local, many thousands travel from across the North-West of England and the Midlands to attend this marvellous event by the sea.
